 | 16th Annual Budding Authors |
Saturday, May 10th at 2:00 p.m.
Budding Authors is the celebration of the creativity of young writers and illustrators. Our young patrons are invited to participate in the program by creating books, which are currently on display in the library. Join us at a reception in their honor. Refreshments will be served.

Wednesday, May 21 at 4:00 p.m.
Led by staff members Jill Burdge and Jennifer Hartig, this group will watch and discuss films of
contrasting genres and directorial approach: battle of the sexes, comedies, film noir, foreign films and trailblazing films of lasting impact. This month's selection is Body Heat directed by Lawrence Kasdan and starring William Hurt and Kathleen Turner.

 | “Democracy and the Cold War in Bridgehampton, 1950-1951” |
Tuesday, April 8th at 6:00 p.m.
Resident and local historian Ann Sandford will give a talk relating the story of a community coming together to solve problems, such as safety at the ocean beach and substandard housing, and describes the formation of a Community Council as the vehicle to resolve the problems. These activities, showing democracy at work, were made into a film in 1950 sponsored by the US State Department for showing abroad. Registration is required.
