Tuesday Talk: Celeste Gainey

Celeste and BookTuesday Talks:
Reading & Book Signing with Celeste Gainey, Author of The GAFFER
Tuesday, September 1 at 7:00 pm

Light infuses much of Celeste Gainey's debut collection of poems, The GAFFER. The first female gaffer to be admitted to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), Gainey vividly depicts her terrain: from the sets of Taxi Driver and The Wiz, to a lighting session with Lucille Ball. The GAFFER explores the quest for identity and synchronicity within the imagined and experimental realm of light and cinema, and the physical world where notions of gender, sex, desire, and ambition are prescribed a priori.
